Platformable is hiring: Data Privacy and Tech Regulations Analyst

Who should read this:

Policy analysts, writers and advocates (women, people who identify as non-binary, people of colour, LGBT and any other potential applicant) with an interest in working under contract with a data startup on a range of data privacy, tech regulations and data ethics projects

What it’s about:

Platformable is hiring a contract position (applicants must be able to invoice monthly for their work)

Why it’s important:

We have a growing number of health policy, equity tech, and government technology policy projects. This is an ideal position to help us grow our focus on measuring open ecosystems that ensure that everyone can participate and co-create their own value

Platformable is growing.

Our work is focused on measuring the value of open ecosystems and the opportunities for everyone to participate and co-create. We have developed a number of data models that track open ecosystems in banking/finance, health, sustainability and government -- and the tools and frameworks that support these areas. Our models have been used and shared by the European Commission, the World Bank, the World Health Organization, global non-profits, community health organisations, governments, and the private tech sector.

Our clients increasingly want us to delve into the questions of data security and privacy and data sharing regulation as we move towards digital economies and infrastructure.  To help us expand on that work, we are now seeking a data privacy and tech regulations analyst to join our team in a part-time, contract position.

Key responsibilities

  • Assisting with global data privacy and data regulation research projects and data collection on an ongoing basis, and ongoing analysis of new regulations to address AI, data ethics and global free flow of data
  • Documenting and building on existing privacy and regulatory data models and datasets

An ideal new team member is passionate about understanding the policy impacts of data sharing, business ecosystems, tech regulation, data privacy, equity tech and the role of data governance and data stewardship. We are all learning a lot on the job, so an interest in continually building on your skillset and knowledge base is essential. Our goal is to make our data collection and analysis more interactive and more engaging, so you will work with our developer and designer team to help us experiment with how best to convey our findings and share our research. Because we have a particular view of open ecosystems, applicants will be expected to understand our priorities and approach (mostly by reading our series on open ecosystems and our other web content).

This work is fully remote, so as long as you can invoice, we are open to applicants from all over the world. We look forward to hearing from you!
