Platformable is hiring: Health/Equity and Technology Policy Roles Now Open
3 min read
Platformable is growing.
Our work is focused on measuring the value of open ecosystems and the opportunities for everyone to participate and co-create. We have developed a number of data models that track the growth of open ecosystems in key sectors including health, digital government, and banking/finance. Our clients increasingly want us to delve into the data we collect and create meaningful analysis that identifies impacts and monitors whether inequalities are being reduced as we move towards digital economies and infrastructure. Our models have been used and shared by the European Commission, the World Bank, the World Health Organization, global non-profits, community health organisations, governments, and the private tech sector.
We have a high rate of returning clients: all of our current clients have worked with us on multiple projects and we are keen to grow our customer base. To do that, we need new team members who are passionate about understanding the policy impacts of data sharing, business ecosystems, tech regulation, data privacy, equity tech and the role of data governance and data stewardship. We are all learning a lot on the job, so an interest in continually building on your skill set and knowledge base is essential. Our goal is to make our data collection and analysis more interactive and more engaging, so you will work with our developer and designer team to help us experiment with how best to convey our findings and share our research.
Both roles are contract positions: you will need to be able to invoice monthly for your work (you can start invoicing every two weeks if you have been out of work during the pandemic). The roles are each 20 hours per week, with clear project goals and 2-week sprints planned for achieving specific outputs as we go.
Our health and equity policy role is for 4 months, while the technology policy role will start on a 2 month contract. We expect both roles to keep growing so there is opportunity for the successful applicants to expand the roles over time, if they wish. Both roles require research skills, data collection and management, analysis, and regular writing outputs. We always consider what the data means for populations and communities that have traditionally been locked out of fully participating in society, so we expect this lens to be applied to all of our policy analysis work. Because we have a particular view of open ecosystems, applicants will be expected to understand our priorities and approach (mostly by reading our series on open ecosystems and our other web content).
This work is fully remote, so as long as you can invoice, we are open to applicants from all over the world. We look forward to hearing from you!
